Just a thought - How about some info about the differences between the different pickups. (Toaster Top, Hi-Gain, Humbuckers).
Also, differences in the neck width measurements (4-strings, 5-strings, 8-strings, 4003 vs. 4004 etc.)

What was the reason for the wider taper necks on the early 4004's?

I received my MapleGlo 4003s and used it over the weekend. Beautiful bass. The overall output seems to be a little lower that the 4003w and 4003 SnowGlo that I have, but this bass was dead quite through a live amp! No 60 cycle hum like the 4003W and SnowGlo. I can't wait to check it through a ...

Paul - Great book. I wish all the guitar books I have were done in this style. Any plans to do another? May be Rick guitars or some other maker? FYI - I haven't seen any books on Heritage Guitars yet.

How about a vintage 4003S? That was my first Rickenbacker bass and I really wish I had not sold it.

I've seen photos of a beautiful white acoustic Rickenbacker and would love to order one, but just wondering about the tone killing properties when an acoustic is painted?
