Maybe it was just luck but I ordered mine in early March and it arrived (much to my surprise) on June 3rd .... Had it's first real workout last week and it sounded glorious.

Seems like there has been two batches of 4001 S basses manufactured with color finishes. Still no site of walnut lumber being delivered to RIC. I'm in the first order batch at PotR. :(

My 4003W took eight and a half months. Today marks four months since I ordered my 4003SW, so I'm still very patient.

I've been through Winnemucca many times. The funniest memory is that they used to have a big highway billboard sign on the highway coming in from the North (US 95) that said, "Welcome to Winnemucca, the city with paved streets!"

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

It's here! Arrived today. A beautiful Jetglo. I'll be making some changes however, before I gig with it. I'm waiting for JF344's to show up. I'll probably have my painter friend re-contour the body so its not so sharp on my forearm. If I don't change the contour I'll have to change my standing position in relationship to the body of the guitar against my body. I'm old! I don't like change!

I'll report back after installing the TI's.

You find the smooth contour of the S body to be too sharp? :?

The contour at the "waist" along the top as your playing is just fine. It's the contour running between the"waist" around to the bridge that has a sharp radius. To play while standing I would have to push the bass to my left to avoid the sharp contour.

Sounds like an early 4004C would suit you perfectly. :D

Wait, won't you have to sand off some of the Jetglo loveliness in order to do that?

Yes, he would, and have the bass refinished, as PW (and Brian Crisman) will attest to, it's not so easy to match an area of JG to the rest of the finish.
