Hi Roy
Thanks a lot for you r postings and your memories of seeing Terry. Yea and Terry did a duo type of thing with James Griffin for quite a few years. It was a sad loss for Terry and everyone at the time.

I have to be honest I have never compared Stereo V Mono. Although I have just bought two Hollies 1960s albums on CD. It has the original album and track listing twice, once in Mono and again in what they call glorious stereo.

Hi Sheena
I am sure I have heard Graham Nash say it was after a Christmas decoration.

I will have to see if I can find the interview he said it in and post it up.

You are so right there Peter!

I think Terry finest hours with The Hollies were his breath taking high harmony vocal on Air That I Breathe and He Aint Heavy. Also another firm favorite of mine that he sang harmony and co lead vocal is Sorry Suzanne.

Is there many members on here that plan to go.

Hi Pete
Liverpudlians never really do tend to as a rule go to far from home. Even if they do Liverpool always remains close to their heart.

There is a saying that goes "You can take a scouser out of Liverpool, But you cant take the Liverpool out of a scouser"

As regards The Beatles influence ...

Hi Peter/All
That’s a very good question.

The music scene back in those days was mainly dominated by a youth type culture. This was inspired by Lonnie Donegan and his hit record Rock Island Line which was released in 1956.

Around this time also skiffle groups were springing up all over ...
