YUP!.... It's the TRC's that hold the key. But Ricenbacker treats them like the crown jewels. I understand about Rickenfakers and all, but jeeeezzzz, it's just a wee bit of plastic, and if someone wanted to make a fake Ric, I would think that simply putting "Rickenbacker" on the guitar wou...

Whew... the Indy 500 pickguards are a bit too much for my taste. For my Ric 360 (circa 1980 dark ruby fireglo... much darker than the modern ones), I got tired of the white plastic. I ordered some custom gold colored pickguards and then tried to get a gold (with black raised letters) nameplate (trus...

Sounds interesting to me.

Why they're not making the Montezuma Glo anymore is beyond comprehension.

ooooooohhh.... I'm drooling and I dont even play bass. The bass player in my band has a blond Ric 4001 and also a Fender. I'm always trying to get him to play the Ric but he gravitates to the Fender. This is the final straw! I will now have to put my foot down and force him to sell both those basses...

YIPES!! not being a bass player, I'll ask the dumb question.... what model Ric is shown in that last pic (and the one before it)? It's not the standard 4000 series body shape. It's MUCH nicer! (and I dont see it on the current Ric site)

The Pyramids now have one more gig on them.... yea, the sound is different. Not 1000% different, but something that is improved. My setup is pretty simple. I'm running the Ric 360/6 through a BOSS BD-2 Blues driver and also a Holy Grail reverb box... and then into the VOX AC-15. (my VOX reverb is no...

Well, I finally shut down my cheapness long enough to invest in some Pyramid strings ($66 for 3 sets, medium flatwound, on Ebay). I took off the old Gibson flatwounds and slapped the new Pyramids onto my 1980 360/6 and they've been through one gig and 2 practice sessions so far (using a VOX AC-15) ....

"I'd be changing them at least every three to four weeks (if I wasn't playing all that much)), or less (if I was gigging every weekend)." YIPES!!!! I'm gigging every weekend and I dont change the flatwounds on my 360 all that often. Maybe once every 2-monts or so, or unless there is a brea...

"swapped out the hi-gains for toasters. Was very disappointed; no discernable sound difference; no extra jangle." Doesn't this have to do with the TYPE of toasters? Someone with more brain cells than I do needs to explain here, but my understanding is that the new toasters are "hot&qu...

I have only one word of advice.... PADDED.

I got one of the top of the line padded leather LEVY straps and removed the stupid Levy logo (replaced it with a sewn-in patch of black leather.)

I sort of did the same.... went away from them and only in the last year or so am using them again.... and now I'm a total convert. IMHO, "the feel" is one of the great things, but I agree it does take a bit of getting used to. There is also a sort of semi-flat wound. I forget what its cal...

That RCA thing is a work of art! (could only be inproved by adding a pickup and making it a 370).

I dont know about those, but I just received my Pyramid flatwounds (about $20 a set on ebay). I'll replace the current flatwounds on my 360/6 and let you know if they were worth the price. Have you had experience with the Pyramids? From what I can tell they are the choice for all those seriously int...
