I'd prefer the original one. This one looks like its so big its hanging off the back. And as Ilan said there will be visible screw holes if you tried to change it back.

I've been playing Bass for 24 years now (Ricks for 22). I play fingerstyle with two fingers and a thumb. I like the sound of a pick but when I try it, its like I might as well be playing with a drumstick!

Mike Parks sold a 4001v63 (its still on his website) and another 4001v63 also sold on ebay right around the time that Tim sold his. I've also seen two or three 4003s sell on ebay in that color. I'm a fan too and almost bought Tim's.

Maybe an artist's rendering of a thick-tailed, screeching cat that's shackled to my bass amp!

So...how would one go about removing the signature? A belt sander? A hammer and chisel? A chemical bath? Or maybe I could put a second pickguard over it...maybe with a cat on this one...yeah...that's the ticket!

I'm the new guy, and I make three. Glad to see another Jeff (Jeffrey Scott) with at least two first names. I occasionally get flack for having three first names(Jeffrey John Thomas) from people who have nothing better to complain about!

Hey now....my friend Tim didn't mean to start a JEFF rumble, its just that he told me about the forum about two years ago, and I hadn't gotten around to registering and posting anything 'till yesterday. Imagine his surprise when he answered my post and then realized that it was from me, the crazy Ri...

Melissa- I'm new to the forum, but I've been a reader for a while. Now I can speak! I too, am the happy owner of a 4001v63 in Jetglo(and 6 other Rick basses as well!) I think that now makes at least 5 forum members who have one. Sadly they're not looking so rare anymore! Oh well I still have yet to ...
