Here is my 74 4001 [with 77 4001 and 80 4003] kind'a funny.... apparently [going by tumblr comments..] you can't get a clean sound out of these and you can't play them finger style... their loss I guess... :lol:

I use chromes on almost all my basses and never seen why flats limit what styles you play from folk to grindcore.

I don't think RIC sells those guards anymore. At least they're not in the Boutique. If you do fond one, you'll need to make the radius that hugs the front lower corner of the bridge pickup surround smaller to match the early surrounds. Also, many of the early surrounds have a short front flange ...
