Nice! I'm a huge fan of OM and Sleep.

My favorite contemporary Ric Artist would have to be Evan Linger from Skeletonwitch. He gets a pretty mean tone out of his Ric for metal.

Re: What kind of bass amp do you use with your Rickenbacker?

I'm playing through my Orange AD200B + 115 rig alot these days. I think I might prefer it over the SVT-VR I have. The Orange gets grittier and has a bit of a darker tone that I'm liking more for the music I'm playing recently.

Re: 4003/5 sound clip

Yeah my band tunes down to Bb and I'm just using standard 105-45 strings on a regular 4003. The low Bb sounds fine to me  .

Yeah I also bought the xcelite driver and it doesn't fit on my new 4003. Another driver I tried also doesn't work.

Re: What recordings do you listen to when you wanna hear a Ric?

The Mastodon album Crack the Skye has a good chunk of 4001 (and Gibson Thunderbird) on it as well. I didn't know Troy used a 4001. I've never seen any pics of him with one or heard it mentioned as part of his gear. It (and the TBird) are new additions on that album. And he doesn't own them, they we...

Re: Rickenbacker bass with effects

dude that is SICK! I want it haha. Is it just a modded circuit of an existing pedal? I believe it's a clone of an EHX small clone chorus with a couple of mods thrown in - he does this as a bit of a hobby really - but he's bl00dy good at what he does! Here's a link to UK Basschat thread discussing D...

Congrats on the new bass! I just picked up a 2010 JG a few months ago. The new basses RIC are producing are really nice.

Re: Carvin bass heads..

well I just joined a new band so no gigs yet as I'm still learning the material but they did play a few gigs last month with their old bass player. I'm hoping to be able to play a show with these guys ASAP though. The other band I play in isn't really going anywhere due to lack of member retention/f...
