Re: 4001 C64 tailpiece replacement?

I too have one of the five white C64s from Pick of the Ricks, mine is #3. My wife contacted Chris behind my back and ordered one for a Christmas present (she had heard me talk about it). I know, right?
At any rate, I have the exact same lift issue. The tailpiece looks great. Great job with the pics ...

Re: Bridge/Tailpiece V2 or not?

Definitely leaning towards the new V2 bridge. The lift is so bad as to make the bass unplayable. I'm pretty sure you can't even get the V1 any longer (at least new). Even if I could I doubt that is the right solution. Oddly, I'm more concerned about soldering than I am drilling the holes. To limit ...

Bridge/Tailpiece V2 or not?

IMG_0591.JPG I have a C64 originally purchased from Pick Of The Rics. It is one of only five white ones made for them. Tail lift has become extreme. All of my Rics have some, most is minor. I'm considering the new Ric bridge/tailpiece as a solution, but have concerns about drilling into what is a ...

Re: Problems with my Playing Style and the Binding

The advice Joshua gives about not resting the arm on the bass is IMHO technically correct for all of the reasons given in other posts. Meaning that if you were just beginning to play and had a good instructor, he or she would try to get you to not rest your arm on the bass along with the one fret ...

Re: St. Louis Luthier

With a recommendation from dr bob I took it to Killer Vintage. They did a fine job, back in less than a week. The problem was essentially a dead spot (serious dead spot) at the 9th fret, D string and trouble with intonation. When fretting that B it almost sounded like striking a harmonic. Sort of a ...

Re: 4001 c64 White

I assume then, from some of the coments here, that even the newer c64s did not come with the push-pull from the factory as the newer 4003s do.....
