Thanks for responding. It appears from what you stated that as long as I don't plan to remove the strap pins, everything should be okay and it should cause no damage to the guitar. Thanks again.

This thread came just in time. I was just looking to purchase another guitar and noticed a brown glue around the base of the strap pins. The guy that owned it said he uses "gorilla glue" when he installs strap locks and has done this to all his guitars. Is this reason enough to pass on the...

Anyone care to take a shot at what was used to get the bass tones on the "Abbey Road" album?? Sounds like a F**der all over that record to me. Anyone hear the Ric or the Hofner in there?

Thanks to everyone for responding. I'll take a look at the Ric brand nylon tapes. Any other suggestions or if anyone else out there uses 'em, I'd be most interested in hearing opinions on sound and brands.
