Re: Chris Squire Bass restoration video

I applaud the interest and effort. Hard to imagine some of the damage, but it deserves to live.

Re: String Poll for Rickenbacker Bass Players

Done looking. The Rotosound Swing Bass 66 are consistent, available, and are one of those "got it right the first time" products. Quirky, but I gotta have the red stuff at the end of the strings.

Re: Rickenbacker bass moving forward

I bought a 4003 Jetglo in January and it has the old bridge. I didn't care as it appeared to me that availability of was low. Dave's always seems to have what I am looking for. Even Wildwood was out, plenty of lefty and five strings

That case holds a 2004 CIJ Geddy Jazz. The new rics still come with the nice skb cases.

New 4003 Jetglo

I thought I’d post about a new 4003 Jetglo I got this week. I’ve bought 3 brand new Rics since 2012 and the quality coming out of the factory is quite good. The finish appears much nicer than my 2014. Pickups, good. No tail issues. Old bridge but I’ve never has an issue. Things seem to be slowing ...

Re: Electronics questions on new 4003 (hum and ric-o-sound)

I went back to the original harness after finding the issue with the neck pickup intermittent shorting. I also cut the grommets in half and I get just a bit more height. I also removed an after market treble bezel hole cover and that little height difference also seemed beneficial. Chronic tinkering ...

Re: Electronics questions on new 4003 (hum and ric-o-sound)

My e!ectronic challenged bass was a factory new 2014 4003. Love the way it plays, but very frustrating, low output, more muddy, neck pu occasionally shorted, output jack occasionally shorted. I bought one of Danes harnesses and a second pickguard so I could swap. Measurable improvement.

Re: 1981 Mapleglo 4001 for sale at Dave's Guitars, Wisconsi

I played this one on my last visit to Dave's. I had my jetglo in for a setup and it looked and played nice. Not much inventory there as they just opened a new store, but the staff on hand that day were the real downer.

Re: The Book is alive!

I received mine yesterday 6/24/13. It is superb. I'll order another to keep on the shelf, nice and minty fresh.
