Re: Rickenbacker 4002 - George Cole Interview?
I have lusted after these basses since I first heard about them in the early '80s, but they quit making them before I was able to place my order. But I never heard much about George Cole, I was always under the impression that John Hall had a lot to do w its development. Is there talk of reissuing t...

Re: RM1999 vs 4001S
I am loving following this thread! I'm kinda doubtful that it could be an original fretless, however I recently aquired a fretless Gibson Bicentennial Thunderbird made in 1976 that had its board replaced w an unlined ebony board. But in my case the reciept for the conversion was in the case. Thanks ...

Re: '64' RM199 rebuild continued, detective work.... (seeking 64 jack plate).
I'm not even sure they do the TRC trades anymore, haven't approached RIC about this in years! But I sure would like some more of the vintage style TRCs if I can find them...

Re: help identifying bass
Pretty sure all the V63's had the hot HS (excluding the first few that had HS made with leftover vintage parts). Vintage spec HS came out with the C64's. That was my understanding too. My understanding, three. My understanding four. Bass looks right to me, even the pickguard. Looks like it might be...

Re: “Professor Plum” The 1970 4001 21 Fretter
Is this one still available? I probably have to get in line, but a 1970 Eggplantglo 4001 21 fretter sounds WONDERFUL to me!!!! I remember conversations I had on this board with the guy from Portugal about 21 fretters in the early oughts, when I owned that '71 FG 21 fretter in the Rock's Bottom book,...

I don't know, but it seems that everytime I see a FG v63 available, the seller is in Japan.

Re: New 4003/4003S Neck Profile
I just recently acquired a FG 4001v63 that I was able to purchase at a quite reasonable price. It is a December 1994, just like my MG Dec 1994 v63, just something like 32 digits higher than my other one. They are so much alike that I am still astounded that I found it. I bought it from a seller in P...

NAMM 2024 what's new w RIC?
Dear RRF friends,
Has anyone heard about Rickenbacker being at the recent winter NAMM show?
I had a friend that went to NAMM last week, but they didn't see a Rickenbacker display. Any news on this?

Re: Touch Up paint for Fireglo, or any other RIC color?
Sometimes you can get away with Jetglo touch-ups using enamel nail polish. But Fireglo is going to look terrible, even if you have decades of experience doing touch-up work professionally. The dings and scratches that instruments get as they are used are something to be proud of, IMO. It’s what giv...

Touch Up paint for Fireglo, or any other RIC color?
I gently tipped over my beloved 4003S FG and it hit a bit of metal with the end of headstock, resulting in 3 very bad chips in the finish down to the wood. :( :( :( I'm familiar with using polishing compounds etc. for cleaning up abused finishes on RIcks but I've never known of any Fireglo touch-up ...

Man, that is a gorgeous Jetglo bass! I just love the way they are shaping the horns and the headstock for these new 4003S models.
Enjoy!!!!

Enjoy!!!!

Has there EVAH been a better film, in cinema history, than MANT!, or more terrifying? I saw it in ATOM-O-VISION for the first time, and I thought I would NEVER sleep again!
