Mark - You're right, that's not charactered at all. My 360/12FG is more charactered than that. It's still a beautiful instrument of course, but I agree that not ONE instrument touted (and priced) as charactered should be allowed out the door looking like that.
BTW - I saw how your comments were ...

I think it's accurate to let the D string ring out as open. Only play the B and G strings as shown above.

Those are very touching lyrics.
"We meet because of destiny"
"We also create false promises"
I'm choked up here...

Vox AD50VT. Sounds nice on the AC30 setting with the gain turned down a bit to compensate for the high gain P/U's (360/12). Fender Twin setting sounds good too. Come to think of it, so does the Boutique Clean. You can also add onboard compression which also sounds good. Loud enough to gig with too.

Michael, thanks for taking the time to measure. I've been trying to figure out if the nut on my 360/12 made in week 42 of '05 has this nut already installed. Now I know it does for sure.

Mike, would you do me, and some others over at the Ric forum, a favor and measure the distance between the centerlines of the outermost E strings. Is the new one 1-13/32" and the old 1-11/32"?
Much obliged.

Thanks John. What year is your 360/12? I'm curious because I've read that later models don't have the finish over/around the nut. I'll still carefully score around it though before I give it tap.

Thanks for the replies.
John, How did you remove the original nut? Did you just tap a side with a screwdriver?

Paul, I saw your obviously very knowledgeable advise on this procedure in a different thread, and I'll follow that. I'm a little nervous, understandably, to try this myself, but I'm ...

360/12 Nut with Wider Spacing

Hi. Can anyone tell me when the switch was made to the nut with wider string spacing (330 nut I believe) on the 360/12? Mine was made in Oct. '05, and I'm curious if I have it, but I'm doubtful. Any comments from those who have replaced their nut with the wider spacing? Seems like the swap would be ...
