Hi
If for any reason you end up not using the Grovers, and one of them is a bass side tuner (E or A), I'll be happy to pay you for them if they're nickel plated (not chrome).
Cheers

Re: Girls With Rics
I think it's kinda prurient. Bit like Chicks with Guns, or some such. Naked Nuns With Machine Guns. That sort of stuff. Maybe I'm just a crazy old punk, but I don't like it. And I've already admitted how stupid I am ... so I'll never look at this thread again. Or comment on any of your girlie ...

Yup, I'm really stupid, aren't I?
Sorry for asking a really stupid question, but why did you start the new thread?

Re: The Clouds 1991 (Australia)
Can't watch the vids where I am, but I know the bass player was no Ric bass fan ... but she did like playing my 370OS. She really did quite like that. I think she may have been a secret guitarist ... but she had a great voice.

Without checking, I think Mr Mysterious generally played Jazz basses. I believe the later stalwart Joe Callis played one (Ric) before he became a Human Leaguer ...

Re: ID these tuners?
Thanks Joe (and Jim)
Yup, that seems to have ID'd them, especially with the pics and the two comments on that page.
I think I'll start offering them for trade on here and see if anyone wants them before casting my net wider.
Cheers

I'm afraid I'm disappointingly old school.

Re: ID these tuners?
I had a NOS set of Gibson tuning keys for a Thunderbird that a guy in Cal. bought from me to help restore his. I got them from the estate of Bill DeArango, along with 5 NOS keys for a Firebird (I don't know what happened with the 6th key) I sold those too, I guess someone had 1 key and needed 5 ...

Re: ID these tuners?
Mark, those are tuners Gibson used on their Ripper basses for a short time. They started using Schaller tuners which look almost the same as your Klusons, but which are stamped "Gibson" on the baseplate. I've seen some which were nickle, but most of the Schaller tuners were chrome plated.

Re: ID these tuners?
Hey thanks!
That almost, kind of, makes some sort of sense, to me, that is. I have an MIA 4001 (long, boring story) that these may have come from. I briefly worked in a couple of music shops in the '70s and '80s, and "hung out" a fair bit, so if anything shiny turned up that was a direct ...
