It looks good, Marc. I would just add checkerboard binding and white plastic handrest and knobs, make it sort of a "white Shadow".

A 4004 in the same finish could look great too - white with checkered binding.

I like it too, but get rid of the 75th on the pickguard.

Ah, here we go - the V86... yes, we all know we yearn for them, etc etc.... but what about this white bass? (!)

Anyway, cheers for the constuctive comments, chaps. - Really helpful. Image

- Bob, what'd be the point of even making a 75th Anni. Bass if it had nothing on it to distinguish the fact? It has to be sellable, people love logos...

- Ilan, totally agree mate. A Cii in this scheme... woot!

Hows about 2 pickguards, one with and one without the logo. And some 75th anniversary Ric picks in a special bag or box. And a 75th anniversary strap and cleaning cloth and a vintage cable and a 75th anniversary case...

Steven, cool ideas!

Re pickguards, note "4001CS Style" on the inital post. I wouldn't buy the thing if it didn't have a standard, playable pickguard included.

Yes, a lot of people don't like "special" pickguards, the two pickguard idea is a good one. I have been wanting an all white Ric for a long time. Good idea Henny. The 75th pickguard wouldn't stop me from ordering one though.

I think it would be nifty if it were a sort of translucent white - like a whitewash, with the aforementioned chequered binding, pickguard logo (btw, impressive & convincing job Henny)& other appointments. I'm not a fan of white-painted instruments, but I'd definitely buy this one...

Yeah, like a see-thru blonde finish, only whiter... Henny that is really good, you have a real flair for marketing...Is that what you do in real-life? I'd order a bass like that!

Gosh I almost hate to see something soooo cool let out of the bag. Now that the idea is "out" and in print, I'm wondering what you think the "real" chances of it ever getting produced would be? Perhaps the factory sees "litigation" written all over this thing. Unless the designer is willing to waive all rights... How about it Mark? ...Hopefully? 'cause it's a killer idea IMO!

OTOH, maybe the law says Ric owns it all no matter what someone comes up with and they can do with it as they please...dunno...
Any ideas? Do we have a Forum Lawyer on board? ...that will admit it? :-O

All I want to know is where do we send our deposit!!??!! ;-)

Nice one Henny! I LIKE it!!! Although I'd probably like checkered binding too. Wasn't sure about the star inlays, but at this point I can't come up with anything better (other than FWcrushedMOP) so yeah, why not??? Just as long as it STAYS white Image

To elaborate on Ilan's 'White Shadow', how about 'White Angel'...?

I like the star inlays too....I've always liked the look of them on a 4004LK.

Where do I sign! Henny sure comes up with some good ideas, as well as some amazing marketing and graphics ideas too! As Ive said before, Rickenbacker should employ this talent! John, you know it makes senses, he is a marketing genius, he's already sold a truck load here!!

Please dont be mad that you guys didnt think of the idea first! Feedback from your loyal subjects can only be a good thing!!

Dont we just make your day sometimes!
