I know it's just my fantasy, but..... how about a 4005 Blue Boy, full width MOP inlays. Hell, I'd order TWO of those...!

That is a cool looking bass Henny. You know I'm kinda partial to the white finish myself... Image

we'll see this bass after the V68 and 4005 reissues are released, haha!
I want a reissue Ric upright complete with working horseshoe available in all colors including white.

Cool graphics Henny ! Image

I'm still thinking more of a 5 string version of the Black Star or Shadow with a wider neck, full width MOP inlays and checkered binding...I know...dream on...

...but the 4001V68 sounds like more of a possible reality. If it does get launched, I'm just not sure if I'd want Jetglo or Fireglo...
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Hey Joey

5 or not... Bring on the Shadow. Ric has never made a better bass.

Brian, for the past 19 years I've had very little use for a 4 string bass. For the past 5 years, when I've used a 4 string bass it was tuned B-E-A-D or C#-B#-B-E.
I'd prefer a 5er, but a 4 new string would get one of the above tunings.

I was a 4 stringer guy for a long time ... but once I got hooked on a 5 the 4 string basses are missing something ... like a whole string ... it would be like I stole your E string and left you with 3 ...

Chris, thanks for the link to the 4005 Blue Boy, which certainly tightened my trousers…!

OK we have the, excuse the pun, blue print for the 75th anniversary with that gorgeous instrument. I guess a limited production run of 750 would be appropriate. Yes, I would still like to order 2 please….

You're welcome, Bob...

I'm sure whatever JH has up his sleeve for the 75th will be a doozy...

Problem with your "750" run, Bob.....If you want two of 'em, that only leaves 748 for me... Image
