Binding Hairline Cracks

Post by Scastles »

On my 360V I have a few hairline cracks appearing along the binding perpendicular to the frets, not all of them but enough. What could be the cause? And what could be the solution, if any?

The cause is likely low humidity. The fret ends poke out of the fretboard a bit and crack the binding. A lot of RICs eventually do this, I wouldn't sweat it. Just keep your guitar well-hydrated.

Thanks. Figured humidity, or the lack of it, may have been the cause. It's used, so most of it occurred on the guitar before I got it.
