The best live records/cd's

Not sure if this one was listed by anyone but I have the J. Geils Band "Blow Your Face Out" on really, really loud and it's just awesome. I'd forgotten I had this. Probably haven't given it a listen in 15 years. Great stuff!!!

J Geils "Full House" was a great one also. I also liked all Cream's live stuff, Goodbye, Live I, Live II, and BBC sessions.
J Geils were from my hometown Worcester and still play around here in various configurations, all blues. J Geils and Magic Dick had a blues band here for years called Bluestime, sounded better than the name. I saw them when I was 16 in 1969 before they were famous in a local club, was a Sunday afternoon matinee, they were unbelievable, they always had it. Peter Wolf was a great singer and the best frontman I have ever seen, he's electrifying as was the band. They could make a corpse dance.

Yeah, I saw Bluestime along with John Hammond about 10 years ago at the Orpheum in Boston opening for Robert Cray. They were excellent. Magic Dick can whale on that harp. In my opinion, there wasn't a better rock vocalist than Peter Wolf back then. Or now for that matter. I just wish I had a chance to see them.

On another topic, Beatles tribute band...check out Beatlejuice. Incredible. I'm not sure if they still play but they used to years ago. Fronted by Brad Delp of Boston. The bassist from The Fools in that band too. Also, the drummer from the band Farrenheit who had a few hits in the 80's. Charlie Farren led that band. He was the singer of The Joe Perry Project when he left Aerosmith for a short time. Other good lesser known Boston bands from years ago...The Stompers, Morphine, Jon Butcher Axis...I could go on and on.

I always thought they should have passed a law that said that J. Geils could never break up. That band had the Mojo, the Funk, the Groove for DAYS.

Yeah they were great live, I saw them twice, once before fame and once after, they were equally good both times. Danny Klein the bass player plays locally still here in Worcester. Beatlejuice is still together and playing. I opened for The stompers several times. I used to see Jon Butcher Axis in local clubs. Hows this one, Willy Alexander and the Boom Boom band? Remember them? The Lines? Duke and The drivers? The Real Kids?

The hits were "All You Zombies" and "And We Danced". I was an overnight DJ at a top 40 radio station when they were out, we played them ALL the time!!

I'm goin going to go over a couple things.
From Oct. 27:
"Actually, I like Ashlee Simpson "live"."
Harsh. I'm actually a fan... for some reason. I don't think she is all that good live but that was a right after SNL cheapshot. I made fun of her a little too, but I still get annoyed when I see someone do it. (I'm not trying to start a fight)

Another from Oct. 27
"By the way, I bought "pulse" on CD when it came out, and it finally stopped "pulsing" about a year ago."
Have you changed the battery? My dad has that case on the CD and when it stops he changed the battery in it.

Rush - ESL and a Show of Hands. I like the "Grace Under Pressure" tour video too.

Pink Floyd - Ummagumma frist disk. Pulse. Is there anybody out there is awesome too. Oh, and A Delicate Sound of Thunder. Great bass solo in money.

McCartney - Wings Over America, Tripping the Live Fantastic (I love the song "Figure of Eight"), and Back in the World.

Kiss - Alive. It has alot of overdubs but is still good.

I do want Weather Report 8:30. Nothing like Jaco live.

Wow... I just caught this topic for the first time! My favorite live albums are all pretty old school:

UFO - "Strangers In the Night"
Blue Oyster Cult - "Extraterrestrial Live"
Rush - "Exit Stage Left" and "All The World's a Stage"

Kansas - "Two For the Show"
Cheap Trick - "At Budokan"
Kiss - "Alive" and "Alive II"

Can you tell I grew up in the Midwestern USA? haha. Brings back great memories of being in 3rd grade and playing cardboard guitars in a mock "concert" while friends flashed lights on us, to the 8-tracks and vinyl of the above albums....
