Pardon me, Dana, but I AM Anglo-Saxon; the distillation of the tall, Nordic, blond-haired, blue-eyed ideal...
except I'm bald and Polish.
I never got called "XZY" in PE class, but I did get called "Whiz" a lot.

Bob, my PE teacher was dyslexic. He would never have called me "XYZ".
Did I get it right that time?

Paul, I'm glad to hear you compared yourself to the Pope because I'm afraid we will be looking for a new one soon. What would your qualifications be? Other than a RIC (notice the abbreviation)player and living in San Francisco?
By the way I obviously use RIC. But when I write letters I address it to Rick N. Backer.

Brian, the only thing JP and I have in common at this stage is that we're both Polish and bald. No comparison intended!!!
I'm a Rick (notice the abbreviation) player (RIC is the abbreviation for the Corporation that builds and sells Ricks). I live in SF. Both of those facts and $5.00 around here will get me a (small) cup o' java.
That will get me good and jangled, which helps my jingle.

$5.00 for coffee? Now you know why I left
I remember being down by the old Hills Bros plant and you could smell the coffee any time out there. Good Luck with your jingle... or is that jangle? Regardless, All the Best... your Holiness!

Knock it off, Simer!
I remember the Hills Bros. thing from years back, when I was a regular visitor but didn't worry about cost of actually having to LIVE here.
...in my "pre-Holiness" days.
Sheesh...

Ok, Paul...I acquiesce to your expertise, although I won't go as far as genuflecting. I realize I've been typing 'ric'...I think I've been doing it to keep my bass and our trombone player separate in interband memos. I'll correct this tendency...verbal communication between musicians is certainly a high-context language.
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

OK, IMHO the next Pope will be an Italian and I won't have to deal with this harrassment any more.
High-context definitely, which makes precise written communication both an obsession and a lost art, where I'm concerned.
