Just got a mint C64 thanks to lowendbob

Post by pbasstraitor »

Just picked up a mint mapleglow 4001 C64 for a very good price thanks to a lead from Lowendbob. This is my 3rd rick, having owned a 02 4003 and an 80 4001 both in fireglow. I could not get used to the necks on either of the fireglow so they were both sold after a few months. This C64 will stay. The neck is a nice C shape somewhat flat on the back of the neck, not baseball bat like at all and the sound is superb, it can sound fat like my P bass and can be set to a treble snap like my Jazz in the same bass.
I had not played a C64 before getting this bass, I bought it based on all the rave reviews from the Ric forum. Thanks!

Paul, congratulations. Where did you get it from, LOWDBASS I forgot? That was a decent price. I think Brian Simmer was looking at that one too. Post some pics if you can. Image

Congrats on the bass... you beat me to the buy by a few minutes!

Still looking for my own c64... preferably an "s"... although the price on the one you scored was too good to ignore!
My first bass was a Rickenbacker...
My best bass is a Rickenbacker...
My last bass may very well be a Rickenbacker

I ordered mine yesterday. I figure I'll have it by Christmas.

Nice purchase! Enjoy it for many years!
If you think all is going well, you've obviously overlooked something.
