Chris is on his way to not being the Shadow king! I'll take his spot, I have two. Doesn't someone else have two as well? Chris does have one of the nicest I've seen however.
a couple of Shadows a Blackstar and an Annie.

I'm down to 2 , Mike.....but I've GAINED the 4005's.....so as long as I have ONE Shadow, I'll be alright Image

Besides, I'm still keeping a running total with serial #'s "for the record"..... Image

I saw two or three familiar names in the list of bidders.

Hey! Thanks guys! I guess I can now say I
officially have a Ric bass "collection"...two!

And for those that are curious, I used Chris' formula. My max bid was $2455.99---to the penny, and that brought me good luck! Thanks Chris "The Shadow King"!!

It WAS a bit of a hard sell to the wife, but I equated this to investing in as solid an item as a US treasury bond... That worked! Is there NO level to which I will not stoop for my desires!?!?
Now...on to the Tux, Shadow, C64S, 4005, CS... and of course my beloved "lady in waiting", the 4003 Staberow resurection!! OOOOH!!! When will it stop!!!!!

Cheers guys!!

Marty

You guys are GREAT!! And thanks for all the congrats! Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this one. Now the grand total of my Ric "collection" will be my '72 4001FG (checker bound...oooh) and the Blackstar. I already gently broke it to the wife that there is a Tux, a Shadow, a CS, a C64S, ...and another 4005 in my (our) future. Where else can one make a nice investment and play with it too!
My Hofner 500/1 arrived last week, and for what it does, that is a sweet piece too.

All of a sudden, at the age of 56 I'm having more fun with guitars and basses than I ever did when I was making a living with them---pretty strange (and wonderful) feeling. I've NEVER even cared about basses before. They were literally just tools---but not any longer!

When the Blackstar arrives I'll shoot some more pics and hopefully be able to post them. Heck, I'll shoot my entire collection! ;-) (I see Ted and Sergio laughing their a**ses off now!) Hey, maybe Rickenbacker is my fountain of youth!! heh heh....

BTW, the seller, Kendall, used to hang out here on occasion. He seems cool and I laid a couple of comps on him for our show in Oklahoma City the end of April. So we'll get a chance to meet and talk Rics... It's a small Ric world huh?

Thanks again guys.

Marty
