Hi all! I'm looking to jangle up my 480 (not the jangliest of Rickys). A compressor should do the trick, I hear.
I'm tempted by the Janglebox, but it's a bit too expensive for me. Anybody tried the Barber Tone Press? Looks promising, with its blend knob, which you can use to blend the dry signal with the compressed one. Anybody tried a Tone Press with a Ricky? Does it work well to maximize the jangle?
Anybody tried the Barber Tone Press?

Mikko: I am sorry that I am unable to offer and opinion on the Barber Tone Press.
Just in passing, however, I have learned that taking the cheapest route has been less than desireable when purchasing effects pedals.
I have compared the JangleBox to several others and without question have found its quality to be the best. I have not tried them all, but it does certainly beat the Boss, DOD, and the Toneman Comprossor. I do not want to take anything away from these pedals which do enhance the guitar signal. I just find that the JangleBox with my toasters jangles best through a tube amp.
Having said this, I concur that for those outside of the US, the Jangle Box is a relatively expensive item. In this case, however, I would argue that saving for a longer period will pay dividends.
I would listen to as many soundbytes as you can online to see if this is the sound that you are looking for.

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
