Quantity of Turquoise Ric 360v64's produced???

Does anyone know the quantity or near quantity of Turquoise Rickenbackers that have been produced? How many of the 360v64's were painted that color? How desirable IS the Turquoise color, and has the color been discontinued? Please comment on any or all of these questions!!! Thanks, I really need some serious assistance making an important decision! Thanks, AL A.

As far as I can tell, Turquoise or "TUR" on the order sheet, is still offered by Ric as a paint choice. It's on their site under the "special order options" section. It is a very pretty colour for a guitar, and popular enough for Ric to still be offering it. I believe you can see a breakdown in colour popularity by checking out the Ric model database Peter has compiled off the main page.

How durable is any color?

All clears 'yellow' to a certain degree and some more than others .Even with all the UV inhibitors ,you won't really know for year to come what it will end up looking like .

You must add this into the color that you want .

Just add yellow/honey to it ...will you want that look later?

Blue generally ends up greenish .

Get a yellow light gel and go to a guitar store ...does it look appealling ?

That's a good point, Mark.

Personally speaking, I look forward to the changes that occur with my guitars over time. I take care of them in every way possible, but I still like to be able to see a quality instrument "age". I think a little yellowing to my mapleglo will just add another layer of richness to the guitar.

Even if you're not as happy with the way your finish is "turning", if the guitar still sounds great, that's what really matters if you're a player.

AXEL: YEP! That's THE ONE I was EAGERLY waiting to "adopt"...however, the owner pulled it from the listings, and changed his mind about the trade. Man, I'm a little bummed, but Hey! I can always find a beautiful Rick...just gotta be patient. Thanks, AL A.

Hello Al, That's a great color! Very distinctive and unique to the Rickenbacker line of guitars. I was in a quandry about buying a 325V59 until I saw a turquoise one. That color, along with the gold guards, nameplate, and stove knobs pushed me over the edge and I bought it within a week of seeing it.
I recently e-mailed Mr. Hall at RIC about the quantity of turquoise 325's produced and he was good enough (as he usually is) to get back to me and say that it's a standard color available worldwide but that they are indeed rare as compared with the Mapleglo and Jetglo 325's one usually sees. I would assume that this is also true for the 330-360 models as well. I've only ever seen two guitars in this color, the 325V59 that I bought and a new 360/6 model that had white pickguards and nameplate. (I much prefer the gold! IMO,that's what really makes this color work.)

Michael,

I agree with you on the gold guards making the colour of the guitar seem extra special. I'm hoping to be able to order a Ric in th Desert Gold colour with the gold parts before they stop using it.
