You guys are killing me! I've been debating which is my favorite, Jet Glo or Montezuma Brown, for months now. I really need a 381, but I haven't figured out the justification part for Mrs. Spousal Unit (oh, I'm dead if she reads this!).
In fact, after my lovely wife (this will help), the 381 is the MOST LUSTABLE object there is.

You need to leave the Rickenbacker all polished up and located around various areas of the house that hold special meaning for her.
By association, the Rickenbacker will gradually take on generalized reinforing properties.
Remember the focus should involve her relationship with the instrument if you expect to get another one past the threshold.

I agree with you all about the sheer beauty of the 381 series. I had a harder time than most finding one for me but here it is!

Robert that is a beauty. Just kidding about keeping it all around the house. If you are unable to get another one of this quality through the door then we are all in trouble. This guitar is exquisite. I like the way the carve adds another shade in the fireglo finish as it tapers off. Thanks for sending this one in.

Hi Rob, it was a special order (I was told it was a one off).

Rockabilly, huh?
It'll do it, but my friend who's a pro jazz player tried mine and flipped. I think he'll be Ricking soon. It just looks jazz, somehow.
To my eye, this is a fabulous jazz guitar, my Gretsches are rockabilly through and through. Maybe I'm thinking too conventionally, though.
