The first one is a sweetie. Mine was made a few months after this one in June of 1980. The coloring is even similar. They are usually not that clean as this one, for some reason. I think this bass represents a chance to own a very nice example of Autumnglo. Perhaps someone here will snag it.

The second one is a prime example of bad trussing technique. That is, not setting the neck before turning the nuts. It is completely fixable but not worth nearly as much as the first one.

The bridge/tailpiece assembly was upgraded to the unit from “Stars Guitars (San Francisco)” in 1982

AG is a really nice finish!

A lovely subtle opposite to something like the fiery trans-red of the Cii for example. Nice!

Man... That fretboard is so light, it almost looks like maple! Kinda cool.

But that replacement bridge is gonna leave screw holes.

Gorgeous finish. The fly in the ointment is the bridge. With the light finish though a repair may not be so noticeable. What do you say bass luthiers?

I have seen that type of replacement before but I don't know who makes it. The extra screw holes on the top edge might be covered by the stock piece.

A lot AG's have light fingerboards, for some reason. Mine is particularly light. FG's tend to have the darkest ones.

I've seen a lot of dark finegrboards on old White 4001s.
