I have mentioned this before in a previous thread. It is regarding bringing "parts" over to the UK by post from the US. I definitely got charged the 3.7% import duty + VAT on top and that includes the shipping! When it comes to musical equipment whether it be guitars, pickups or strings being imported from the US, you ARE liable to pay duty. If you dont, its been a fluke. These people are on the ball.
Bob, that is a nice case, I used to have one that I had made for a Stingray. There were 2 problems with it, the weight, and it was very unforgiving to my car if it was a late night and I was a bit careless ! I have my original Ric cases for mine, but if I was short of one I would probably look at a Hiscox. I wouldnt advise anyone to go for the silver vintage Ric case. They are seriously overpriced and very flimsy.
