So is that the secret? Mod the f^(# out of your bass, throw in a little abuse for good measure, and it will still sell for $900!

where do these people get there info the first one looks like a 73 not a 70 for sure

I agree with Jaymi. I think its a mid to late '70's model, not a '70 or a '73. Hard to tell from this guy's horrible photo, but the tuners have the black skirts on them.

Some poor guy got taken. I'm sure it doesn't have checkerboard binding. The seller probably doesn't know what checkerboard binding is and just lifted the wording from some guide describing the features of a 1970 4001.
