1997's?

Post by sloop_john_b »

I'm really in love the the 1997 style, the only ones on eBay right now however are being sold by GCRep, a Fireglo for $1600 and a Jetglo for $1400. Generally GCRep sells things for much more then they should be sold for (ROCK OUT LIKE MOTORHEAD!), so I was wondering what the "going" rate for a nice used 1997 would be?

Apart from the GC gtrs, they don't come up very often. I would have thought though that around the $1200/$1400 mark would be about right, depending on the colour. Jetglo would probably be the cheaper end, with the ever favourite FG at the top.
The only two that have sold on ebay recently went for $1300 (I bought it...lovely!!) & $1400. Both were FG.

We are talking re-issues here, not '60's models.

I have a Mapleglo 2000 model 1997 coming in about 2 weeks. Molded case, near mint, and I was going to price it at $1300, so I guess I was right on. Are you interested?

Bob: This must be getting close to the end of the Model 1997 production. I forget exactly when the last reissues were made.

Pretty close. But the cutoff was 12/31/2001.

<stupid>

Bob, do you run a guitar shop or something?

And yes, I may be interested, unless Anthony beat me to the punch!

John, I have been buying and trading RICs for a long long time. I don't currently run a shop, I just keep my ear to the ground for good RICs.

Good score, Tony. Maybe next time for me. =)

Kevin, yours looks fantastic, if it were a bit cheaper I may be able to swing it but i'm in need of a good Acoustic-Electric right now. Thanks for the offer anyway.

1987-2001. According to the Ric book, the 1997 & 1997VB started in '87 & according to Bobs post, they ended in '01. The Pete Townsend model was '87-'88. The 1997spc started in '92, again according to the Ric book.
