Hello and a 360/6 Question

Post by xrider1300 »

Hello Everybody. I've just become the proud owner of a 1998 360/6 Mapleglow and a member of this board. There is alot of great information here. I'd like to do a set-up on the guitar as it feels a bit low and I'm also going to put Ric strings on. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to shoot for when adjusting the string height? Or do you just keep playing with it until it feels "right"?

Hi Wesley & welcome to the forum.

If you look further down this topic, you will see a thread entitled 'Lowering action on 360/12'. Paul Yan gives an expert talk through of various bits & pieces regarding this & other issues.
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

Hey Wesley, welcome!...Tony is right. Excellent instructional guide from Paul. If you feel you need to do anything at all.

A bit low. That's a new one. You gonna play slide or sumthin'?

Just kidding, Wesley! Welcome!!!

Thanks folks. The step-by-step from Paul is just what I needed. I guess I'll put on the new strings and let them settle for a few days and then check and adjust as needed.

Welcome from me too, Wesley. I'd call you Wes but I know a couple of Wesleys who hate that so I'm treading carefully!!

Hello Howard,
Wes is fine. That's what I should've put down but it asked for full name so that's what I gave. Thanks.
