What do you think about RIC website ?
I was looking for informations about the 4001 series but this site is just... !@*=$?!
Which site are you talking about, this one, or the offical Ric site. The official site contains most of the old sale materials, and in there is some information on the 4001.
This site has a section in Rickenbacker bass models here ---> Rickenbacker Basses You can also try finding a copy of Smiths book, which is a good source.
Another approach might be to ask here, there's a tremendous depth of knowledge among the members.
As for the Ric site, it's fine for what it does, ie, promoting Rickenbacker instruments. It's not as yet a historical archive.
Hope this helps ...

I like the RIC site. It is easy to navigate. It has everything you need to know about the product. The only thing I would like to see is the gallery section updated with some new photos.
Their are plenty of other sites, this one included, that will give you a historical look at RIC. I would rather they spent time making guitars

****I would rather they spent time making guitars****
Good point. And JH and crew spend their time making very good guitars.
I work in IT, and maintaining a web site is PITA. If their web site was the ultimate in gloss I'm not sure the Laredo I just got would be such a fabulous instrument.

Ed: We only disagree slightly, maintaining a website can be a FPITA, and the F doesn't stand for Fender. My barber doesn't recognize me anymore.
Back to the topic. I continue to find much useful information on the RIC website and it is to their credit that they continue to provide information on such things as the circuits of amplifiers and guitars and details on their current models. The site is easy to navigate and I find it to be aesthetically pleasing.

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Personally I think the RIC site is OK. Not the best out there, certainly not the worst. I have, at times, wished it would be more comprehensive, but right now I am at a loss to remeber exactly what was lacking...kind of like "if you can't remember it can't be all that important".
Certainly A LOT better than Fender's site, for exactly the "glitz" reason. Fender's site has a lot of info, but is in general hard to navigate. And good luck trying to find any contact info...
At least at the RIC site I have been able to get an e-mail to their service department, who have usually been able to reply rapidly. The only time they didn't was a request regarding potential mods to the Laredo I was lusting over. A situation I know know is tied to the mythical "RIC Custom Shop"
I also figured that I was really asking a sales question, so I'm not surprised (or confused) about no reply...
Peter-I'm pretty sure I understand the "F"

I have no problem with the RIC website. It is easy to navigate and has all the info you need. The schematics and service info is a real plus.
