Would be great if we could arrange a room rate at a hotel if there's enough of us. Chris, I don't think you are staying in Columbus, are you? That's the city we are to meet, isn't it? I've lost track....

I'm staying between Columbus and Springfield....the antiques shows are in Springfield.

Looks like we've got around 10 or so that have committed to this....so we need a nice sized meeting room for all of the equipment that'll be there....

I usually stay at Signature Inn when I go to Columbus. It is in NE Columbus near Westerville. Nice place with a very good continental breakfast and they do have meeting rooms.

Chris.....I don't have any ideas for Columbus. I don't usually stay the night when I go for car/bike shows. So, as usual, I am no help.....

Ok guys I'll see what I can find. I do live here in Columbus. Depending on how you are travelling and what side of town the majority are coming from, I'll get info from hotels in that area. Our band has been pretty busy, but we are cutting back to 2 weekends a month. I also live close to the airport for anyone that may fly in, let me know and I can be there. Let me know how I can help,
Randy.

I'm meeting with a lady today about a conf. room on the west side. It has good access to any freeway in Columbus. She said since we are first time customers, she is cutting the rate from $150.00 to $95.00. Friday is open all day, Saturday is only open after 05:00 p.m. Any preferences?

I'd be coming from the airport, using America West Air. I'm not familiar with the layout of the city. $95. is a fair and usual rate I pay when I attend any conventions. Randy - is this a hotel with a conference room?

Mike, yes it is a very nice hotel. I just came from metting with the marketing person and she showed me the room. It'll work great for what we need - 45 people capacity - coffee, water etc...
It is a "Hawthorn Suites Ltd."
5505 Keim Circle
Columbus, Ohio
www.hawthorn.com
I set this up with Shaina Shah who said to ask for her and she can make sure you get good rate.
Her phone # is (614) 853-6199
The reservation phone # is (800) 677-6424
Her email: [email protected]

This is close to a part of the freeway that can link you to any freeway in Columbus. It is surrounded by a slew of other motels, shopping, restaurants etc...
And Mike, let me know when your flight comes in and I can pick you up.

Randy, this all looks good!

To clarify, you mean $95.00 is the rate to get the conference room for one day? ...or were you referring to room rates?

That is for the meeting room, one day. Their room rates don't seem all that high either.

Is she going to give us a break on the rooms for the group? I spoke with Sheronda at Signature Inn today. They have a conference room that should work for us but I didn't know if we would need it for a full or half day. Normal room rates are $89.00 + taxes; she would do it for $75.00 + taxes for a group of 10, which is what I told her to base it on. It is a very nice place, I have stayed there many times, and they have a very nice continental breakfast and ammenities in the rooms including refrigerator, microwave, etc. Can you check them out in person Randy to get a comparison to Hawthorn Suites?

Yes I can check into it. I was looking for the side of town that would be closest to where the majority would be coming from. To tell you the truth, I live here so I've never had the need to check into a hotel here, thank goodness for that. It doesn't matter to me where in town it is. We do have to get one soon because the weddings start in May and I guess those rooms get booked around that time.
What say the masses, which side of town and which night, Friday 13th or Saturday 14th ?

Signature Inn is probably easier to get to from the airport.

I was just looking at the map and Sig. Inn is far easier to find, it is just north on 270 and Cleveland Ave.

I'd prefer Saturday the 14th, later in the afternoon...but that's just me. I will adapt to whatever you guys come up with....

Either place will work......which one is closer to a main road/interstate?
