George Harrison

Post by 360dave660 »

The news of George Harrison is tragic. He brought me great happiness through his music and his independence of mind and spirit. Paul McCartney used to say that when he was sad he listened to Elvis. From age six one I saw HELP, no art form gave me more happiness. Listening to George led me to discover the guitar greats of the 50's which led me to pick it up. Playing the guitar always makes me happy NO MATTER WHAT !

May your sweet Lord watch over your soul George Harrison. You brought happiness to my life. You never knew it, but I was somebody who cared.

I will always remember you, your art and your music. The world was a better place because of the beatles and because of George Harrison.

With my sincere condolensces to the Harrison family,

David: Well said. George had a trememdous influence on young aspiring musicians and his contemporaries during the early 1960s which has continued for more than 40 years. My heart has always sung everytime I have heard a Rickenbacker 12 string and I will always associate this joy with George Harrison.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Just think of all the things that wouldn't be what they are if it were not for his contributions.....

Rickenbacker, popular music as we know it, and, this website just to name three things.

There are just too many things to think of right now; I am sad he is gone but happy to have known his influnce and what a difference he has made in my life. I owe very much to The Beatles and George-- a lot of great times that will continue with the music he was part of and when I play my Rickenbacker guitars. Thanks Man.

It's a sad day indeed.. The end of a legend.
I, as all of us, will miss him yet we will be comforted by his music which will live forever..

..While my guitar gently weeps...

I think it's important to remember all the positive things George brought to the music industry.

He was the first to incorporate instruments from different parts of the world into his music.

His large charity concert for Bangladesh was the blueprint for Bob Geldof, Live Aid, Farm Aid, and even by extension, The Beastie Boys and their Tibetian Freedom Concerts.

His focus as a lead guitarist was on the music and not on showmanship.

Thank you for the music, thank you for the passion, thank you for the ideals.

Rest in peace, Mr. Harrison.

George Harrison was the principal reason I began playing guitar, way back in 1964. And all these years later, every time I pick up one of my guitars - particularly my 360/12V64 - I feel that a part of George is still with me...

A lot of love there; we are all the better for having been fortunate enough to share our time on this planet with him.

I'm happy to know that George will continue to inspire me, and so many others.

May God rest his beautiful soul. And help to mend my broken heart.

And thanks to Him for blessing us all with Gearge Harrison.

George's passing is truly a time for celebration. He closed his eyes to this world and opened them in heaven. This is what his life was all about.

It's good to come here and read such lovely things written by true fans. It was disgusting listening to the news broadcasts on FOX and MSNBC and listening to these idiot anchor people speak like they actually knew what George had accomplished. Not to mention that MSNBC started and ended segments playing Let it Be. Never mind that it isn't a George song, but Let What Be? Let it Be he's dead? Let it Be he's in heaven? Let it Be and don't worry about it? Anyway, at least he is setting Sinatra straight.
