Saddened by his passing

Today the world lost a wonderful individual who touched the lives of millions with sound .

He was one of 4 who helped form my views of life and of music .It was through his and his partners music that the pathway of my life forever was opened up and revealed .

My first experience was in a basement with the Taylor brothers huddled around a small 45 RPM player listening to ;She Loves You /I'll Get You,Please Please Me/From Me to You ,Twist and Shout /There's A Place,and I Want to Hold Your Hand/I Saw Her Standing There.

Those sonic tones imparted to my brain led me on a path of music .My artistic quality and lefthanded(right brained) thinking and hand abilities ,along with a fluke job after I turned 18 led me to this business ....but it all goes back to those four .

To George ,I give my thanks to tastefulness and calmness of style in the eye of a hurricane .He helped me understand the workings of dealing with the famous .I have had the pleasure to work on many famous players guitars and spend time with them in the working process that they do .I also understand that they are just regular people that have a gift and have a drive to share it with the world .
I too have a gift ,and I thank God for giving it to me .I thank Jean Taylor and my Mother for going shopping that day and buying those records .
It changed me and my life forever .

Amen, Mark. Your use of the word "tastefulness" could not be more appropriate.

George was the principal reason I started playing guitar, back in 1964. He and the other Beatles created a quantum shift in my consciousness at that time, and my world-view would never be the same again.

We will miss him, but we will never be without him.

Although I am much younger (born 1967) I agree. George is one of my biggest influences. The numer one reason I have played Rickenbackers for the last 12 years and now own a 36012v64. I had waited to see George and Eric Clapton tour together, but now will never have the chance. He will be missed.

George Harrison is the reason why many of us wanted to play guitar. Without his influence many music greats, including Roger McGuinn no less, would not have been introduced to the Rickenbacker 12 string. George made great music better and his magic touch and peaceful ways were apparent both on and off the stage. While he grew up in a rough and tumble Liverpool, he has moved on to a gentler time. A close friend sent me this song today which speaks to George's harmony with the world and his depth of knowing. May he rest in peace.

Some of my most memorable Beatle listening times were when I visited Mark the MD when we were young teens[or just barely teens] in '65.Especially when Mark and I nearly wore out the single of "I'm Down" one afternoon on my little mono record player; like to have drove my poor mom nuts!! But today, I Really am Down,with the news of Georges' passing.Another part of the most important band in history Gone forever, but not forgotten.I feel very sad for kids today who don't have someone like George and the Beatles
to admire during those troubled, formative years.
Thank you George, I'll not forget you soon.....
