On a XM radio interview he says his name is mentioned in four different songs within the past 30 years or so. Can you name them? BTW, I can't because I was dealing with my 2 year old at the time and you know how that can be. LOL,sorry! He says they are pretty well known.
There was an Orange Juice song that had a line, 'I wore my fringe like Jim McGuinn's'. I believe it was from their first LP (1982?). I'll have to dig it up- they had some great stuff.

Thanks for reminding me of this song, Chuck. I had totally forgotten about it.
After digging it up myself, the Orange Juice song was "Consolation Prize" recorded in 1981 for the album "You Can't Hide Your Love Forever". The fringe was actually Roger's, not Jim's!
Edwyn Collins suffered a cerebral haemorrhage on the 20th February, but his condition is improving:
The Uncle Tupelo CD "No Depression" has one of the songs. Jeff Tweedy (now of Wilco) sings on the song "Train",
"...the radio was playin', Roger Mcguinn singin' to each and every thing there is a time and a season..."
Possibly played on a Ric as Jay Farrar played a 600 series at the time.
Cheers,
Bill
