Why I Love My 350
Moderators: rickenbrother, ajish4
It sounds better, stays in tune better, is easier to change the strings and for me has a more late 1950s look which I enjoy. The fifth knob wiring has also made it possible to experiment with a wider range of sounds. I really enjoyed the instrument before, however, these modifications have been a great learning experience and a lot of fun. I would be remiss if I didn't thank all of those who made comment on this topic and offered encouragement. I must confess that I was not wild about drilling holes in my guitar at first.

I'm glad you did it ...this look is something that was lurking and needed to resurface.
I had that tailpice on the 12 string that I bought from John Hall in 1972.After Bill Meyers drilled the second set of stringing holes ,that became THE tailpiece for me .After stringing and tuning countless 'R' tailpieces ...I longed for the return of the Vintage .
Both are a classic look and totally identifiable with the company.

The knob is a Gibson stock item PRTK-030 Vintage Amber. It is a perfect fit for the Rickenbacker switch. And to think I have turned myself inside out trying to age a cream knob.
