Now, THAT 360F makes me drool, and I'm not a huge fan of BB, either. Very sweet.

I second the long "R" tail piece. That would be cool!

I feel that a wood tailpiece would be better also, as some metal tailpieces can resonate and not contribute in a good way to the sound. Bubinga to match the fingerboard would be nice or the good old standard of Ebony may work.

In fact, that's exactly what I have been considering for this guitar, a wood tailpiece. Ebony would be a problem, however, given the C.I.T.E.S treaty and something like Madagascar Rosewood might be more sonically appropriate anyway.

Jim Reeves was backed up by the Jordanaires, the same group that backed up everyone from Elvis to Johnny Cash in Nashville in the 50's. Jim had a successful hit titled: Blue Boy. This prompted RCA to put a backup group together for Jim calling them the Blue Boys. This inturn led to Rickenbacker endorsing Reeves and his band with blue guitars. In the 50's Country Music was very big in So. Calif. Fender was very keen on giving instruments to various artists playing in the area. Leo's way of getting his guitars advertised
in Nashville which was almost entirely using Gibson's or Gretsch guitars. Although it took the early 60's surf craze to really put the Strat on the map, the country scene accepted the Tele with great acclaim. Just listen to Buck Owens and the Buckaroos. Pure country twang. As for me, the opening chord in A Hard Days Night says it all.

I'll be VERY happy to see this guitar come to be!! I'd be more inclined to go for the 360F than the Jazzbo...

I actually have a Jazz bo on order ever since I saw in pictures the prototype at one of the namm shows. I'm doubly excited to see the C series guitars hitting the streets, for one part because I love those guitars and for the other because I beleive the Jazz bo was scheduled to go into production as soon as all the C guitars were there. I know that once I have this baby home it will take its rightful place as the crown jewel of the collection!
So Mr Hall, have you decided on a tail piece for the J? And thanks for keeping us posted on the its development!

Can I get an idea of what i'd expect to pay for a Jazz-Bo?

I want a guitar in that style and of course i'd go for a Rick before anything, especially this one. What a beauty!

I placed my order for a Jazz Bo in 2001 through Music 123 and the price was a around $3200. I don't know if that price would still be the same if ordered today. It is indeed a beauty and I beleive it is very near production (I hope!)

I've just been quoted $3395 so that price is about right.

Does the Jazz Bo come in different colors?

John $3395 sounds good for a guitar that lists over 5K, who offered at that price? I might be interested.

Marc, currently Rick has put a hold on orders for acoustic guitars. Let's hope that things will change soon!

I guess i got so juiced at the recent confluence, Im considering going all-Ric. This would mean moving out the Martin, and bringing in a Ric acoustic.

Maybe things will change, or one will come up for sale.
