A very good one John. El Kabong! This is one of the few posts that have, in recent times, had me laughing out loud. Thanks I needed that. Image
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Why does he need three HB1s, though?

Just two in the Model ii positions should cover everything you could ever get from a 4004.

Whoa - that's that sorted then! *sigh*

I think the 4003 pickup assembly he's got drilled on looks ridiculous...! But... uber cool at the same time.

Shaun - yeah, 'Space Ritual' is one of my alltime favorite albums, too! The Thunderbird headstock is clearly visible (in silhouette) on the inner sleeve photo of 'Warrior' (not reproduced on any of the CD reissues, unfortunately). I also have an issue of Mojo from a few years back that has some really nice full-color photos of the band rehearsing (with Stacia, yum!) where Lemmy's playing the T-bird. I've heard recordings of the Hawkestra concert, and the bass playing/sound is indeed stupendous during the segment Lemmy played for. And apparently he added the horseshoe top to the LK (which, I agree, does look a bit ridiculous) because he can't play without having it as a handrest!
My basses are Rickenbackers. My synthesizers and recording gear are analog.
