Been told my Precision sounds like a Ric...!

I had a 68 Candy Apple Red P bass with a 66 Jazz neck on it for years, miss it. I played it to death though, frets were gone, finish was down to the wood many places especially where my right arm rested. I think my newer 4003's have just as much balls as that one did though and it was a good sounding one.

I'm not much of a fan of P basses. My first bass was a P bass copy. Not like that but me off but I just don't think there are that my tone variations with one pickup. I also don't quite like the shape of the pickup.
I was also incredibly shocked and angry when I found out that Geddy used a P bass on Rush's first album.
I would probably get one anyway, like Roger Waters' old bass (a sunburst one with the cover, a rosewood fretboard, and tortoise guard... '62 reissue) to play Pink Floyd with the non Ric sound. I know if I did get one most of my family would be surprised because over the last year an a half I have let everyone know my hate for the P bass. I've even told people my age who are starting bass or getting a new one not to get a P bass or a bass with P bass pickup. I said "If you want a Fender get a Jazz bass. Or get a Rick."
