Bob, no it never appeared. Serial no was K4-4926 just in case anyone ever comes across it. And Cole...sorry!!! But hopefully what happened to me was a one-off.

Shaun, I just made a notation about your loss in our database, just in case. I also see that it was originally owned by a fellow here locally in Laguna Niguel, California, purchased from Guitar Center in 1992.

John, thanks for that, it's much appreciated. As I eventually (!) got the insurance money for it I assume technically it's not mine anymore (although I'd have swapped the money in a heartbeat!), but it'd be nice to know what happened to it, whose hands it ended up in and how, assuming it ever turns up. I bought it from a guy in Vegas. Nice to hear that little piece of its early history. Many thanks!
