The washer thing around the tuning posts?
I noticed that the washer on that sits on the headstock around the tuning posts on the 'c' series and the 60's basses is really quite small, where the ones on the 4003 are bigger.
Is it possible to put the smaller ones on a 4003? The tuning machines look to be the same size, but I am not sure. Can one even buy those seperately?
Are those things even called washers?

I doubt they are sold seperately, John. And I also doubt they would work. The tuners are different. I have both types. One time I removed them and compared them closely. I'm at work right now but as I remember it the shaft on the 4003 tuners is a slightly larger diameter. The screw holes would line up though. You might me able to swap the complete tuner, but in my opinion the 4003 tuners work a little smoother than the c64s.
Play what you love, love what you play!
