Oh well. So I guess this means only 49 Shadows can be all original! Unless Ted's theory is correct and there were actually more than 50 made. I'm guessing that with two on ebay right now and some 20 in the hands of forumites, Ted is probably right.

Yeah, I've seen worse mods. Like this one for instance:

But too bad he couldn't have picked a Fireglo 4003(ducks to avoid objects thrown by Jim Glenn!)

I like it too, Bob! Wow!

A change from plain old Jetglo.

I was and still am a BIG fan of Starcastle. Gary Strater was one of my faveorite bassists back then. Even though I'm a devout short scale 3000 fan, I'm willing to max out my credit card to have this bass. Now to break the news to my wife. Since the proceeds go to Gary's wife, I think I'll follow that line of thinking.

If one of we forumites gets it, I'd ask to have really good photos taken of it for possible inclusion in a "custom" chapter of my book. Please keep me in mind.

Thanks.

About the one Jeff pointed out (4001 that surely isn't a 4001s!): How can they ask for 1699$?
I just don't understand...
This one would be better on RIC's hall of shame than ebay... ;)

cheaper mods tough Image

But I phoned them and they said "no no no, it's a vintage one... They only changed the pickups and pickguard!"
