New Rics and Cases
I am curious to know about what kind of cases are being issued for new, standard model Rics, not Vintage or C Series. It is quite possible this was brought up on another thread/topic and I missed it. I have heard that they are primarily plastic cases.

Yes they are, Stan. Quite sturdy, with aluminium trim where the two halves meet. They look good - a black and yellow RIC logo riveted to the top of the case near one corner. I'll take a photo later today and post it (if somebody doesn't get in before me!).
Ed Roman doesn't have a high opinion of them - he suggests a timber case if I recall.

I'd like to see it, Howard, thanks. The only reason I brought it up was a dealer I spoke with, who I will keep nameless, essentially, for lack of a better word, complained about them and I didn't even know about them. The last two, new Rics I bought were vintage/C series guitar so I had no idea.

These are very nice cases. The latches are like jewelry, except very heavy duty. The insides are very well-finished and comfortable. I know, because I slept in mine last night.

Paul, my wife is beginning to think I would attempt same. I am cordoned off to my one room with my Rics and I'm running out of space. Something is going to have to give and I will likely be the 'givee'.

Thanks for your input, Howard, Bob et al. I feel a little more comforable now that I ordered a new 330. Guess this dealer wasn't real pleased (nor was he pleased with the deposits that are required for certain options)...BTW, Howard, if you get around to it, I would still like to see a pix of the case. Thanks guys.

Bob: how do you tune your case? Do you prefer flats or rounds? And so on...

What songs do you like to play on your case?
Or should that be a new thread?

I don't want Bob's case. Mine is just fine, thanks.
Dane, did you ever use the 4080 case as a dining table?
