Instock 360/12c63??

So, does Rickenbacker paint an occasional JetGlo to cover up some unsightly knot or blem in the wood they think just won't be appealing to the customer?

Jetglo guitars in series where it is not shown as an option are not available for ordering per se- they're only offered "as available" which results in a very limited quantity being produced. Obviously these are units that have particularly unspectacular wood grain not suitable for transparent finishes. There's nothing different about the wood quality, just the aesthetic appearance. The availability will directly reflect the street price.

No. The only gloss finished 380 is one that I have. If you see one, it's been refinished.

Does anyone (i.e., JH) know how many 360/12c63s have been distributed so far in the States? Total? Will the Serial # indicate a sequential run, or just month/year? Finally, are there any currently for sale (i.e., not pre-sold) in the US?

There's quite a few out in the market now and more in transit. However, given the backlog I'd say the odds of finding one available in stock are pretty minimal. But wait awhile and as we catch up there's bound to be some available.

Our serial numbers are shared across all models and encode only the year and week of production, nothing more.

I was quoted $2995.00 on it. Only $204 under suggested retail...

I suppose that's one reason why it's still there - it's quite a bit more $$ than I paid for the FG at Buffalo Bros., must be a supply / demand issue.
The build quality, playability & satisfaction I received is probably worth the 3K.

The only problem I'm having with it is that it has a tendency to dominate my playing time. I like to play acoustics also, and the c63 softens my callouses and mussle tone - so I've had to put it away for a week and rebuild my fretting hand.

Does anyone know why the tone controls work in reverse?

Tom, the tone controls work in reverse because that's the way they worked on the original. No real reason, just a quirk.

Well, they came down in price on the JG, $600.00!

And $2199.00 on the FG is a terrific price.

Philistine question. I understand the RIC date codes for 1961-1986 and 87-95. To clarify, what is the code for determining the year and week of, for example, a new 360/12c63? Thanks.
