Took the 660/12 plunge!
Howdy folks. I'm new to the forum and have been enjoying the talk and pictures. I just got on a wait list for a 660/12 blue burst. Now I have to sit tight for 6 months. I'm a big Beatles fan and started my Ric desires for a 360/12. Then after looking around really dug the look of the 660 and all the favorable comments on the wider neck did it for me. Has anyone out there gotten or even seen the blue burst yet?

Welcome, Tim!
I've not seen a BBR in person, but I think it'll be pretty spectacular.
My first Rickenbacker was a 660-12, in MB.
You will LOVE your guitar. It is a terrific instrument. What sort of amplification are you planning on using?

Thanks for the welcomes. I'll be playing my 660/12 through a Crate vintage club 30, 30W class A, 12" speaker and a Roland Chorus 77. I've also got a transparent orange G&L semi-hollow ASAT tele (my first "baby"), an Ephiphone jazz box, an old Elekta 335, a Blade Strat, a Tacoma flattop, a G&L 5 string bass and a few lesser guitars. I can't wait to add the RIC to my stable.
Welcome and way to go Tim.
You will have the sweetest and most flexible 12 string solid body out there. It's fat clean, thin clean, slightly OD'd, or over the top Soldano/tube screamer distortion, sustain forever or not, Ric chime galore or not... all really amazing.
I did not settle for FG on mine, I demanded it. It is a jewel both visually and, more importantly, audibly. It rarely goes out of tune and is set up beautifully to play rythms or leads. It weighs surprisingly little (I have a back breaker '69 Goltop Deluxe to compare it to) and it looks killer live under lights or jammin' in the studio.
Be prepared to answer a lot of questions, this guitar attracts a lot of attention.

Never, ever drool on your surf shirt. It wrecks the solo.

I had a hard time deciding between blue burst and fireglo. But decided to go for a different color palette from my other guitars to go with the different sound palette. I can't wait to post pictures, many months from now. You avid Ric addicts will have me buying another one before my 660/12 get here! Cheers!

So buy another one, and then when the BBR arrives, put it up for sale. You'll have no problem getting very close to what you paid!
