What do you say about having a fun little contest?
Who is your prediction to perform at the 2006 Super Bowl halftime show, and what songs would make a good show?

I will say the follow up to McCartney will be:

The Rolling Stones
1. Start Me Up
2. Let's Spend The Night Together
3. Honky Tonk Women
4. Satisfaction

May I be flippant?

The entire Minnesota Vikings Roster:

1. Why does it always rain on me? (Travis)
2. Hell ain't a bad place to be (AC/DC)
3. If you could read my mind (Gordon Lightfoot)
4. How can you mend a broken heart? (Bee Gees)
5. What do you want from me? (Pink Floyd)

Sorry.......... frustrated Aussie Vikings fan!

Cheers

If past history is correct, then next year the halftime show will be back to stupidity and suckdom at it's worst...

Probably be P-Diddy and or some other moronic choice...

UNfortunately, since the next Super Bowl is in Detroit, expect a bunch of unimaginative selections of Motown artists that are still alive and Kid Rock, the pretend redneck gangsta. Aretha Franklin, Martha Reeves, Stevie Wonder, etc. Living in Detroit, and seeing all of those people for the last 50 years now...(Has is been that long??) One has to believe that there has to be other music from this town. How about the MC5, Alice Cooper, Eminem, Seger, Nugent, etc. Even they are old. Damn.

What's wrong with Ashlee Simpson? At the orange bowl she couldn't hear herself. Everybody else did though....

Steve...Alice Cooper's from Scottsdale, Az....known as Vic Furnier when he ran cross-country and wrote for the paper at Camelback High...we were all thrilled when he made his first million and built a mansion right next door to Barry Goldwater's place...

Eminem, Seger and Nugent? Too redneck for me, but probably not for the NFL....but the MC5? Now yer talkin'!

Or how about a Stooges reunion? Nobody knows how to have a wardrobe malfunction like Iggy...

Even though Alice wasn't "born" here, he is somehow tied to the "Detroit music scene". My recollection is that he moved here and became popular here. Expect a Motown revue...although I would like to think we can do better.

Mike...I'm not sure, but you might be right about him going to Central. I'm kind of sad to hear it doesn't exist anymore...I graduated from Westwood in Mesa in '73. A friend of mine on our lillywhite basketball team told me that when they pulled up in the bus in front of Central, their all-black squad was lined up gauntlet style in front of the gym entrance. Each player was dribbling a ball slowly with the left hand and pointing with the right, straight at the guy on our team they would be guarding all night...like, "I'll be speakin' to you later..." They had certainly done their homework...

Hey Steve...how about Suzi Quatro? Put her and Iggy together at halftime and I might forgo the trip to the kitchen...
