But it was natural. Their early stuff had a great bass sound though, right Andy?

Well, theres been plenty-o-dreck in the last 50 years. I think that a lot has to do with how you were when you heard it. "Billy, Don't Be a Hero" was probably **** to an 18 yr. old but was probably passable to a 10 yr. old, lol. Completely subjective. Well, not completely. :-)

Yes, I still love the Herman's Hermits stuff, Freddy and the Dreamers, etc. because I was a kid when it came out, probably some people here think it's less than stellar music, haha!
A great one right now on the ol' antique radio : 'A Thousand Stars in the Sky' Kathy Young and the Innocents.
I use my pod for this one.

I used to run a website called - "the 20 Worst Songs of All Time". You can find the remains of it here:

http://worldzone.net/music/dotcommies/worstsongs.htm

My personal fave was Clarence Carter's "Patches" but overall, for sheer consistency in producing schlock after schlock, the collected works of Bobby Goldsboro take some beating. Remember, "Honey I Miss You", "Watching Scotty Grow", "Summer (The First Time)" - just gag me with a spoon...

Yeah Bobby Goldsboro did come out with some real sentimental krap, his first song wasn't bad though, had the Pretty Woman drum beat in it, was a rip off though.
Little green apples was pretty lame.
Patches at least had some good players in it, was a little melodramatic though.

I loved Disco Duck as a kid!
"Here he is, come to pay homage to the Rickenbacker display!" (Said to me by owner Bruce at the "Great House of Guitars" in Rochester, NY)

"S.A.F.T.E.Y. DANCE" from the early '80s; i think that it was from a group called men without hats ...

I bought disco duck as a 45 with paper route money in the second grade (76-77 ?). It at least was a novelty record

Joe Dolan's 'Make Me An Island' is as corny as they come.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

Not all of it. "Crazy Horses" rocks as heavily as Deep Purple or any other early-70s contemporary (unbelievable, yes). But then again, I can find something to like in just about any genre ...
My basses are Rickenbackers. My synthesizers and recording gear are analog.
