I've had a few of these over the years. they sound great.

There's an original FireGlow lefty 4005/6 out there that I keep missing. I really want that bass. The last seller sold it to someone else for less than what I offered him. Funny how people are when they know you are a dealer as well as a collector.

Back to 8mileshigh's broken 4005.

I had a similar break on a 4005 back in the late 70's. Attempts to glue it never worked. In 1989 a man in NYC built a new headpiece on part of the neck which he attached lower down the neck. This gave the glue a larger (longer) surface area over a more gentle angle as well. That worked beautifully. You might want to consider that?

I recently sold that bass but I probably have photos of the repair at home if you are curious.

Here are two i have at the office. If I can find the CD at home, I also have some better closeups of the actual repair.

No Chris, I usually read most of the posts, what would I need a bass with two extra strings on it for? haha! Although that is probably tuned from E to E like a guitar. I'd like it just for collectabilty purposes though.

Wow...$8600.00! Now that was exciting, especially during the last 40 seconds or so when the price went up by over $1700.00!
