Blackstar vs 4001CS

I have several collectable basses and rarely take them out, I use a fairly new jetglo 4003 (96) that sounds great and was dented and scratched when I bought it for a song. I don't worry too much about dinging it although I obviously take care of it. I also get nervous when I take out a mint collector bass. I picked up my beater for about $550.00 w/ case a few years ago to fly to Lima Perú with where I also live part of the time and was pleasantly surprised when I played it. It needed the treble pickup rewound when I got it which was done and it sounds great and plays great, and I get to leave my collector basses at home.
Hey Bob. Remember your posts from the Peruvian Cafe, one each night?

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

haha! The Peruvian internet cafes that is. The're everywhere in the city, telephone time is really expensive there so everyone uses the cafes instead of buying their own computers. I'll be posting from there again pretty soon hopefully. I was in Lima when I joined as a matter of fact. It was the high point of my day usually.

Hi Derek. My 2 pence worth would be… Do you play both basses? I mean by that do you gig, rehearse, jam with your mates, … whatever.. With both basses?
If these two are just for collecting and you are looking to raise some cash I would sell the CS. The Blackstar will be worth more in the future (I think).
If you play both basses then sell the one you play less or have bonded with less.
My two Rics are a prototype V63 ( not sure about the value on this one, it’s totally unique but does that make it silly money?) and an Azureglo ’80 4001.
Both these instruments to the average punter are absolutely top notch basses. The thought of owning a ‘mint & boxed’ bass would just do my head in. If I can’t get a bass out and give it a good spanking on stage I would rather not own it.
