How many Lemmys are out there?

Post by rickenrocker »

I'm another one of those patient souls who is still waiting on a Lemmy bass after 4+ years. I think I am #48 on the waiting list of the first 50 units. Of course, RIC then added 10 more units to the production run later.

I am trying to get a feel for how many units are already out in the field. I know there are a few members of this forum that already have their Lemmys. I would be curious to know from those members what number their bass is in the production run. And how many members are still waiting on their Lemmy?

I've heard some second hand rumors that RIC would complete the production run on the Lemmys by the middle of this year, but I haven't seen anything from JH, either officially or unofficially, regarding this matter. Does anyone here have anymore info on this?

I know that there are two LK's on this Forum but have no clue what numbers they are in the production run. Mike Parks has 14 ordered and I am 2nd in line and still waiting for mine. There are two other forumites that also ordered from him. I saw a "PS" at 2/8/01 on the list also....is that you? Why do you think that you are #48.....just a guess or were you told that at some point?

I would be a little happier if I knew what number my order was and where Rickenbacker is in production as well......I know it won't happen but after waiting so long it would be nice to be given some solid info to cling to. I emailed Mr. Hall late last year and he replied back to me that the run would be finished by summer (he didn't say beginning, middle or end). Hopefully he will see this thread and offer us some more info. I'm still hoping to have mine for the Confluence in mid-May Image.

Thanks, Brian. Yeah, that "PS" is me. The #48 is just a guess of mine, but it looks like I might be #49 instead of #48. I just assumed that because I was somewhat shocked that MIke Parks was still accepting orders for the Lemmys in February. They originally went on sale in January '01. I figured that the first 50 units would be soldout in the blink of an eye. The two Lemmys that "FD" ordered on 4/16/01 came after RIC's announcement that they would add 10 more units to the production run.

I hope you are fortunate enough to receive your Lemmy in time for the Confluence. It looks like you've been waiting longer than me, lol. But there isn't much time left before the Confluence though. Good luck!

If anyone else has anymore info on the Lemmys, please join this thread. Thanks.

What is that, a nickname for Lemuel? Probably not too many these days.

I didn't mean him, the question was how many Lemmy's are there out there, I thought it was like how many Bob's or Dick's etc. are there out there.

I'm the SW in Mike Park's Lemmy list - don't know where that puts me in line. Whenever I'm in contact with Mike I ask him if there's any news on the Lemmy's but the answer is always no. I don't even think that Mike has received any 4004LK's (unless he got some of the initial early run). Brian - are you in the list on Jan. 17th or 29th?

I'm at Jan. 17th. I thought a long time ago Mike said that he received one but that there was some sort of problem with it.......maybe I just misunderstood and I didn't pursue it any further (I try to not be pest). I'll have to ask him about it next time I call to "check in". So, since I'm second, if he received any he only received one.

I think Lemmy got his nickname because he was always asking people to "lemme (lend me) a fiver"...
