and all the rest, actually it depends on how long it has been since I've heard the album for the rest of them.
One of my most memorable songs has always been 'This Boy' The whole Meet the Beatles album has been indelibly etched into my brain for years and is my favorite, it is so fresh and alive. Also their Second album and Introducing The Beatles.

I was four when it came out and can still remember my oldest brother bringing it home!

As for a specific song, it changes so often depending on the mood I'm in but "Please Please Me" is always a really good one.
On a somewhat related note, I've always heard that one theory for why The Beatles were so popular in the US was that they arrived shortly after the assassination of JFK (I was 5 at the time and had already turned apolitical). After 9-11 and the inundation of all the coverage I got to a point where I just had to get away from all of it and I took the Please Please Me CD and just drove around in my car listening to the music. Until that time, I had never really bought the theory but it is hard to listen to what is, mostly, very upbeat positive music and still hang on to the deep depression that a lot of people felt. Beginning with the count-in to I Saw Her Standing There, that CD is just incredible!
Sorry to go all serious - I also like Hey Bulldog (my niece and nephew love it, too - my son is more of a Sgt Pepper type).

I was 10 when Kennedy got shot, even I could feel the somber mood of the nation. 4 days of nothing but Kennedy's funeral on TV etc. I saw Jack Ruby get shot live on TV.
I think they would have been huge no matter what though and it was a good three or 4 months later that they really broke here.

But lets all keep in mind that the Fabs NEVER made any albums called "Meet The Beatles",
"The Beatles Second Album", "Beatles '65" etc etc.
As we know, those are Capitol Record creations and I've heard that (aside from reducing the song count and mixing up the sequence) they even messed with the tapes themselves (adding reverb for example). Can anyone elaborate on that?
The original UK releases are the Holy Grail.
But lets all keep in mind that the Fabs NEVER made any albums called "Meet The Beatles",
"The Beatles Second Album", "Beatles '65" etc etc.

I know but I like them better, I like the song order on Meet The Beatles for example a lot better than With the Beatles. To me that album sounds like two different albums stuck together and I know it's really the other way around but that's what I've heard for 40+ years. When they made the fake stereo mixes they added a lot of reverb and I like that especially on The Beatles Second Album. To me the Capitol releases are the Holy Grail.
