One of mine too, Sean! I saw them for the first time at Cobo Hall in Detroit in 1980 on that tour. I was in awe.

Phil Keaggy, now there's a great guitarist! The first time I saw him, I was blown away; that was in '72, Glass Harp and Humble Pie at the John Carroll University Gym. I have seen him many times since.

Ever hear the compilation "Invention" by Phil Keaggy, Wes King and Scott Dente? That's an awesome collection of guitar instrumentals.... they used a whole studio full of rare vintage guitars for the recording, too.

BTW, that one plays pretty regularly in my CD player, especially when I'm working on the home business....

Also:

The Waiting "Blue Belly Sky"
Third Day "Wire," "Offerings" and "Offerings 2"
Mike Stand & Clash of Symbols "Full Circle"
Rich Mullins "Songs" and "Songs 2"

....And many assorted Blues albums by Glenn Kaiser....

Pithecanthropus Erectus, great album! I have his Atlantic box set. I have almost all Coltrane's stuff also, two different box sets. Lot's of acoustic Miles Davis, love all that stuff.
How about Miles Davis 'Nefertiti'?

...once had an otherwise-educated girlfriend insist that "Sketches of Spain" be turned off, because it, er, spoiled her concentration. Although I had it on quietly, she said she felt like "the (expletive) Spanish army was marching through our bedroom."

Actually, I don't own a cd player. I have my entire cd collection on my pc. Over 4800 tracks and yes, I have a database with everything I have.
So I could say everything I own is in my player.

Bob...another Mingus head: right on. And I agree, of course, MD's "Nefertiti" is excellent. I listen to "Man With The Horn" a lot...love that bass work on "Back Seat Betty"...When I was in college a thousand years ago, I had a friend who was an amazing flute player from Compton (L.A.)...this was in the days of cassette tapes, and he had one tape he carried with him and listened to almost perpetually...A side: "Bitches' Brew"; B side: "Rites of Spring".
Wonder what planet he's living on now?

Jeff Buckley- Grace
Interpol- Antics
Brad Paisley- Mud on the Tires
Muse- Absolution

I know Brad Paisley doesn't fit in here, but he plays a killer guitar.
